Gutless, Spineless Weasel

Just so this gutless, spineless weasel can't claim he was mis-quoted or taken out of context, I give you Paul Krugman verbatim and total.

Clearly Krugman likes to make a comment, but doesn't necessarily wish to face any challenge to his alleged superior, intellect.

All you have to do is ponder back to the days shortly after 9/11 to see who drove the wedge into this briefly country.

Is it just me, or are the 9/11 commemorations oddly subdued?
Actually, I don’t think it’s me, and it’s not really that odd.
What happened after 9/11 — and I think even people on the right know this, whether they admit it or not — was deeply shameful. Te atrocity should have been a unifying event, but instead it became a wedge issue. Fake heroes like Bernie Kerik, Rudy Giuliani, and, yes, George W. Bush raced to cash in on the horror. And then the attack was used to justify an unrelated war the neocons wanted to fight, for all the wrong reasons.
A lot of other people behaved badly. How many of our professional pundits — people who should have understood very well what was happening — took the easy way out, turning a blind eye to the corruption and lending their support to the hijacking of the atrocity?
The memory of 9/11 has been irrevocably poisoned; it has become an occasion for shame. And in its heart, the nation knows it.
I’m not going to allow comments on this post, for obvious reasons.

Lazy Media...Social Security = Ponzi Scheme

I love the lazy media’s reaction to Governor Rick Perry, Republican Presidential candidate, calling the Social Security system a Ponzi scheme. Naturally they miss the qualification the Perry puts on his comments, that current recipients and those who are poised to join the system have nothing to worry about, but it is the young workers just starting out that are being taken to the cleaners by this huge lie.

For those clueless media types and their Liberal friends who like to scare old people into thinking that anyone who talks about changing Social Security really wants to take it away…let me share this definition of a Ponzi scheme…

A Ponzi scheme is a fraudulent investment operation that pays returns to separate investors, not from any actual profit earned by the organization, but from their own money or money paid by subsequent investors. The perpetuation of the returns that a Ponzi scheme advertises and pays requires an ever-increasing flow of money from investors to keep the scheme going. The system is destined to collapse because the earnings, if any, are less than the payments to investors.

Does any of that sound like Social Security? HELL YES IT DOES! The last I checked, the actual rate of return on the money that people invest in the social security system is about 1 to 1.5 percent. The need for an ever-increasing flow of money sounds oddly familiar when it come to the social security system.

So is Rick Perry some big dumb cowboy, like the lazy media would have you believe, or is the guy right on?

Follow Liberal Logic: "Let's take these sons of bitches out"

The following is an exercise in Liberal Logic:

Yesterday, while appearing at a Labor Day rally in Michigan, Jimmy Hoffa Jr. the head thug of the Teamsters Union loudly and now famously proclaimed of the Tea Party, “Let's take these son of bitches out”.

Today comes news out of Senator Harry Reid’s state of Nevada, that a currently un-named gunman opened fire inside an IHOP restaurant, wounding six and killing three, including two uniformed members of the National Guard.

Run this through the Liberal Logic machine that claimed that Sarah Palin’s “targeted” Congressional districts, somehow encouraged Jared Loughner to launch a murderous rampage, gunning down innocent bystanders and Congresswomen Gabby Giffords.

So where are the cries of outrage from Harry Reid, DNC Chair Debbie Dumbasdirt-Shultz, Nancy Peolosi and other deranged Liberals, claiming that Hoffa’s fiery rhetoric was the root cause of these terrible, senseless shootings? ***Insert Cricket Sounds Here*** Clearly many members of the military are supporters/members of the Tea Party movement, so it would follow that this shooter was some deranged, union member, hellbent to cap some Tea Party types.

Now do I know for a fact that this shooter was a union member? Or that he heard Jimmy Hoffa’s ridiculous and incendiary comments? No. But when did actual hard facts ever matter to Liberal Logic? They never bothered to get the facts before they launched the attack on Sarah Palin.

Once again, this just another illustration that proves how twisted and illogical the thought processes of Liberals really are.

Dr. Tim Groseclose – Left Turn: How Liberal Media Bias Distorts the American Mind

You have to love the Liberals “do as I say, not as I do” approach to life.

When it comes to global warming, the “science is settled”; man made global warming exists and if you don’t believe it, then you are at best a denier, but more likely you are a flat-Earther, or have a room temperature IQ. We are talking science here!

If you don’t buy into Darwin’s Theory of Evolution, then clearly you are a mind-numbed dolt or worse some sort of Bible-thumping moron! We are talking science here!

Clearly you are George W. Bush stupid if you don’t think that stem cell research will help solve all of the world’s medical issues; Michael J. Fox will be cured of Parkinson’s, Christopher Reeve would have walked and heck we might have even been able to thaw out Walt Disney. We are talking science here!

Liberals wrap themselves in the cloak of science; adopting a look down my nose, I’m smarter than you world view, if you are too stupid to grasp the importance of what only they can understand.

That is until now. Dr. Tim Groseclose, an economics and political science guru at UCLA, has developed a methodology for measuring the political quotient (PQ) of news outlets and the impact it has on voters and even politicians. Methodology…yes we’re talking SCIENCE here!

Naturally Professor Groseclose’s book, Left Turn: How Liberal Media Bias Distorts The American Mind, has liberals sputtering mad. They denigrate Groseclose and his research making the usual claims that Groseclose has been bought and paid for by the right, that clearly he is a conservative wing nut and his research/book is biased and yada yada on the personal attack front. When it comes to Liberal, if you can’t respond with a valid argument, then a personal attack will do.

Groseclose based Left Turn on a journal article the he co-authored, and in the book he offers a snapshot of the reactions he encountered to the article from his colleagues in another liberal bastion, academia. The reaction was predictable, ranging from outrage to calls for him to be fired!  Surprisingly, Groseclose actually earned a bump up to a full professorship and received offers for endowment positions along the way.

He also managed to at least convince a few of his academic skeptics that the science he used to develop the results; which show a strong left lean to much of the media and a more even handed fairness on the part of outlets like Fox News which are accused of a conservative bias, was scientifically sound.

While I didn’t find Left Turn to be as entertaining a read as say Freakanomics, fans of that book, and those who thought the media was liberally biased will enjoy this book. Liberals will likely hate it, attack it, and label it pseudo-science!
